The Fort Knox of Chicken Coops
Kelly, Ohio,
Ordered my omelet coop and run this past July. Shipping took a while so plan ahead for when your chicks will be ready to move from the brooder to the coop. I allowed plenty of time so the shipping timeframe wasn’t a big issue for me. I grew up on a farm in rural Ohio. We kept chickens my whole childhood and I finally moved to some land as an adult and could go back to raising my own chickens. Honestly there is just no comparison to fresh eggs. Be warned once you have had them going back to store bought is hard! Anyway I moved my 6 Easter Eggers in right at 8 weeks old. It was late summer so didn’t have to be too concerned with cold nights. I couldn’t believe how quickly my chickens took to their new home. Happily running around the secure run and hopping up the ladder for bedtime the very first night! I chose to spend the money on this coop for several reasons. First I have every manner of critter that would love a chicken dinner, great horned owl, hawks, raccoons, coyotes, foxes and the potential for neighborhood dogs to get on my property. Because of this free ranging my birds would not be an option. The omelet is secure and I mean completely secure. A few days ago I look out my window to find the neighbors dog barking at my chickens and clawing at the coop. The dog was working so hard to get at my birds he cut himself. The only thing he accomplished was tearing off my windbreak panel and hurting himself. My birds were perfectly safe! Amazing! The other reasons I chose this coop is the ability to move it around so my birds can have fresh grass. I have the longest run you can get and can easily move the omelet around by myself over bumpy terrain with no issues. Takes longer to move my feeds and stuff out than it does to actually move the coop! Another reason I chose the omelet is easy cleanup. Every part wipes down with coop cleaner, water and a paper towel. Even stubborn children droppings come off. I like to keep a clean coop and it takes me less than 10 minutes to clean out my omelet top to bottom. Finally I chose the omelet to ensure my birds a comfortable. Happy chickens lay the best eggs! The omelet is cool in the summer and keeps the chickens warm in the winter. My birds turned exactly 5 months old this past week, on December 21, the shortest day of the year. We had near blizzard conditions here, blowing snow and -9 without the windchill, which was about -30 degrees. Much to my happy surprise I had my first egg on Christmas Eve! If you’re a chicken keeper you know these are not optimal conditions for your chickens to start laying! My birds are young to start laying for Easter Eggers, we definitely did not have 12 hours of daylight and it was bitter cold! I can only guess that the omelet has kept my chickens healthy, safe and warm to the point they were ready to start laying even in these conditions! Love love love this product and all the accessories! I ordered the auto door about 2 weeks after my chickens moved into the coop. It’s a life changer! Never failed! Well worth the money! Highly recommend!

Great once up!
Liza, East Sussex,
I would have given 5* if it hadn’t been so difficult to put together. Please allow several hours. Once up, however, it’s excellent, very sturdy and well made.

So happy that it worked for the bantam Silkies. They made it up the ladder no problem at around 13 weeks of age! :)
An Omleteer, Sir Fynwy,
We have an Eglu already for our Marans and it's just right for them. It is so easy to clean, great for laying (once they had training eggs in it), and with a useful space underneath. I'd read that Silkies didn't make it up the ladder, so am pleased to see that that is not true. At least, now with ours. Thankfully, given the low temperatures right now, we have the extreme weather cover, as little ones are more vulnerable. It's kept them toastie.

Really warm and cosy
Janet,
Having bought several wooden chicken houses which in time leaked, I’m hoping the Eglu will last longer. It certainly looks robust and waterproof. Very pleased with my purchase. Chickens adapted very well in a couple of days as the steps were much steeper than they were used to. Very happy chucks.

As good as I expected!
Los,
I did lots of research and I'm so happy that I ended up with Omlet. It may be on the pricier side, but it is worth not stressing over chicken safety from predators and ease of access to clean and maintain. I bought the larger coop to accommodate Omlet's automatic door and light. My 11-week old chicks have learned to put themselves to bed and are getting better with the ladder every day. I can't wait to get more chickens to fill up their coop.

I am so grateful!
Felica, Idaho,
I have always loved to have a few chickens, I wanted the Eglu for many years but kept purchasing cheaper huts. We have lost so many hens and in 2020 I gave up. In 2022 I paid almost $16.00 for 5 dozen eggs and said that's it went straight home and purchased 3 day old chicks for $10.00. Over the next weeks I mulled over what home to purchase for them and finally thought I'm going Eglu, I am so glad! I have a Labrador that loves and protects his chicks but is very allergic to everything chicken and he can no longer get into their food! His hot spots are gone, chickens are healthy and happy! I purchased my Eglu Cube (large) in June of 2022. It is now November and we are having unusually cold winter, today I ordered the Jacket (really to make me feel better) the hens seem to be happy and are not minding the cold. I have 3 (large hens) so I worry about not enough body heat with these cold temperatures. I kick myself for waiting so long, just do it! It's worth every penny and now with the options of using Klarna, so easy! If you'd like to know more to help you make this purchase, please email me!

So far so great
Bree,
So far so great. I only gave 4 stars because honestly, I had the hardest time putting the fencing together. Also, some items were labled wrong. But I love the coop itself. Can't wait to see how it does all year round.

Perfect for wet Cumbrian winters
Arowe,
I needed something that could cope with all the wind and rain we get here….my old wooden coop was falling apart after only a year so this has been perfect (especially with the auto door). The hens are comfortable and safe and the instructions are clear.
