Cracking... (Fab, not broken!)
Liz,
We started with a wooden house to see how we got on with keeping (4) chooks. After a matter of weeks we were hooked on the girls but less impressed with cleaning out their house. The cube duly arrived and 2 more girls will be joining them in their palace next week. The ease of being able to clean it out without bending down, kneeling in a poopy run and twisting into awkward positions to get into the house and scrub it out cannot be under-estimated. Muck comes straight off the plastic and it's dry in no time, unlike wood. We've cable-tied poles from the Omlet netting to the front of the run so we can access the pop hole and nesting box as well as clean out from outside the run and it works a treat.

So easy to live with!
Steve,
Our small flock have been residing in a self built home for a number of years. The quantum leap to Eglu was prompted by the end of shelf life of the original structure, coupled with a desire to have something of an easier maintenance routine. My wife has an illness which was rendering the original design too heavy and awkward for practical and comfortable operation (although it was fairly well designed at its inception). Bring on the Eglu - the girls have embraced their new home with consumate ease and clean out time has been reduced from a two man job of 20 minutes to a one man job of two minutes. Wonderful. Thank you.

good investment
Yvonne,
After a week of heavy rain and drizzle the chucks are able to shelter from the worst excesses of the weather and they can eat and drink without getting soaked. Easy to fix and very effective.

An excellent Chicken Run
Matt,
A great purchase. We had an Eglu Classic before and our chooks are much happier with the extra space. We'll be getting some more chooks soon though. Very easy to put together. I think it said it would take 2 hours somewhere, but as a child of the lego generation and an adult of the MFI/Ikea generation it was a piece of cake and didn't take long at all. Would definitely recommend.

Best purchase yet
Lucy, Essex,
To anyone thinking about buying a cube then i would really recommend it. Its alot of money to spend out but i can't tell you enough how easy it is to clean, move around the garden, more hygienic than wooden ones and most of all my girls enjoy it too. I was prompted to buy this after a fox managed to get into my wooden coop and take one of my hens so knowing that they are safe in the cube and run is the most important factor for me.

excellent
Mary,
This is great for my 10 hens. Easy to clean and no worry of the red mite. The only downside for 10 hens there needs to be 2 nesting areas one each side. I often find eggs on the bars as they could not get in the box to lay as it was occupied. Omlette please look at adding this extra nesting box. Otherwise 10 out of 10

Good but a few suggestion to improve
Sarah,
I finally decided to buy this product after battling to eradicate red mite from my old chicken house, which was made from wood and full of nooks and crannies. It arrived flat packed and was very easy to assemble thanks to good instructions. It sounds silly but I was concerned that it might look very "plasticky" but I was pleasantly surprised. It's now been up and in use for 4 weeks and overall I am very pleased, the chickens seem happy and are staying much dryer due to the covered run. An improvement that would benefit me, would be a smaller door opening. My chickens keep going into the nesting box to sleep which I think might be because of the draft due to the door opening being quite big. Also I love the size of the door in and out of the run but I do struggle when trying to put the chicks away after they have been roaming the garden. I end up putting 1 away then closing the door whilst I get the next and then it's a bit of a struggle trying to put the other away whilst stopping the one that is away from escaping (my husband finds this hilarious to watch). Maybe the door could be split in two so that it's still easy to let them out but then the bottom half of the door could be closed to assist putting them away? Overall though I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.

AMAZING
Celina,
absoulutly brilliant. Have 6 chickens so they fit perfectly. It looks great in the garden, and its actually big enough to go in, so the kids are going in and out all the time! Could not have bought a better chicken house and deffinatly worth the money. It also lasts for a very long time and keeps our 6 chickens warm all the way through winter.

Fantastic
James,
Very easy to take care of in terms of cleaning etc, and the sliding doors / trays / egg doors are also great in daily use. They seem to like it so far (consistently getting 3-4 eggs a day from 4 hens)!! It feels very solidly built, and good value for money considering the number of years use we will get out of it with clean and disease free environment for the hens. My only complaint would be the plastic stairs and the lip where the doors is. One of my hens still can't walk down it properly and tends to just fly down. She stands on the lip and slips sometimes, though the others have mastered it quite well. I think adding some kind of textured surface on there would work well, just something to grip onto a little more. I was thinking of adding some adhesive velcro strips myself. ps; you can follow along with the Eglu in our garden on our blog: http://selfsuffiencyguide.org/blog/
