Chickens enjoy using their Rocky Peck Toy Using the Peck Toy is a great way of making your chicken treats last longer

Thanks to its carefully designed treat dispenser the Peck Toy releases its contents slowly over a period of time when pecked at by playful hens. This means it not only provides an engaging and lasting challenge for your flock but it is also an ideal way to make your chicken treats last longer. The slow release nature of the Peck Toy also helps to guard against a dominant few hens having all the fun and gives the whole flock a chance to get stuck in.

The Elvis Peck toy can be placed anywhere The Peck Toy encourages natural behaviours such as pecking and foraging

Not only will your hens have a lot of fun playing with the Peck Toy, it also encourages and provides a healthy outlet for natural chicken behaviours such as pecking and foraging. Unlike with traditional chicken feeders, the random scattering of treats that occurs when the toy is pecked ensures your chickens will have to work for their rewards and it presents them with an interesting challenge.

Providing added enrichment and mental stimulation to your hens routine not only helps to keep boredom at bay but it is also proven to improve flock behaviour.

Try using a different type of treat, preferably something you know then chickens really like, and that is big enough that they can see it. Carefully hit the toys with your hand or foot while your chickens are looking to give them an idea of how they can get the treats out. You can also put the dispenser on the ground to start with so the flock can investigate it before you hang it up or stick it in the ground.
Anything that is big enough not to pour out of the holes, but that is small enough to actually get through them. The Peck Toy is designed for standard chicken feed, corn and grit, but you can try a range of different treats to see what your hens enjoy.

Good fun for pellets
Shay,
I tried to load mixed corn into this feeder but it just fell out as the holes were too big. However, the normal pellets I feed my chickens work and the chickens absolutely love it. I've ordered a second one, as there is always someone pecking away at it.

I’ve only had a couple of weeks so I can’t speak to the durability over time but the construction is solid and my girls enjoy it.
