The plastic roosting bars are fantastic, the hens and me love them. They are easy to clean as the dirt does not stick to them, it slides off into the litter trays, leaving the hens to stand on clear roosting bars. Thank you so much. Charlie

Not sure they are as comfortable or grippy for the chicks to stand or walk on but hey they are so easy and quick to clean you only need one set. It was about time Omlet brought out some plastic ones, to live up to the reputation of the eglu's being so easy to clean and disease resistant. Not sure why they ever made them in wood really - seemed to defeat the object. Well done Omlet!

I went online to buy replacement bars as my wooden ones were broken on arrival 6 months ago and have been a pain to maintain and clean ever since. I was going to get some new wooden ones as an early xmas pressie for the girls. Well these plasitc ones are FANTASTIC! they are so easy to clean and I am much happier that when I have cleaned them out that everything is spotless!

These are excellent - much better than original wooden bars and much easier to clean. Fitted perfectly.

Yes, it holds a lot of water, but my hens don't appear to have the nack of drinking from the teets. Can any other owner tell me how high to position it? Should the hens be able to easily fit underneath or should they have to stretch their necks to reach it?

These are the best - we tried to cope with the wooden bars, but I just couldn't get them clean enough - or dry enough in our lovely climate - to feel happy to put them back in the eglu (have you tried using a blow dryer on wooden roosting bars?). The plastic ones are excellent!
