Outdoor Pet Run - 4 x 5
Disappointed
Joanne, Aberdeenshire,
I bought my walk in run last November costing just under £1400 with accessories to keep my hens safe from a badger and to follow rules on the threat of Avian Flu. My hens are safe from the badger but not wild birds, who can get in with ease through the larger upper mesh. As the run is 6m x 3m it is going to be some effort to use mesh to keep the birds out. Something I hadnt anticipated when buying it. Omlet have been helpful in informing me that Avian Flu is not a problem at present and that I could have read the Q&A's which told me wild birds could access the run. Thats number 12 on the list. The last advice I got was to put chilli flakes in the hen food as hens don't notice the taste but wildbirds do. Oh dear.

Omlet Chicken Fencing Poles - Set of 5
It's good
Kath, Somerset,
I bought my fencing back in the spring/summer and have rotated it along with my girls housing. Along with the rotation I have had to change where I have placed the poles. This has lead to parts of the fencing becoming baggy, is that because of the poles being moved? who knows. I did buy an extra box of poles for that exact reason but still the baggies. I do love the fencing and it has been a nice sized area for my little girls to roam around free (although not at the moment)

Naomi,
Seems to be comfy and the dog really enjoys laying on it but there was a stain on the mattress and it doesnt seem to fill the cover provided, lots of loose fabric.

Outdoor Rabbit Run - 3 x 4 x 2
Roof gaps are too big- not safe from small predators!!
Claire, CORNWALL,
We’ve just bought the lower height walk in rabbit run. It looks great up, and loads of space for the bunnies. Only one moan…and it’s a big one. Why oh why is the roof wire larger spaced than the 4 sides??? It is not safe from predators as we recently experienced In a previous run where a pole cat (similar to a ferret) got in and killed our bunny. It was for this reason we wanted to invest in a safer better built option, only to find the roof created the same problem and therefore defeats the object of the purchase. Yes yes we can by extra wire/covers etc but at a premium making the run even more expensive than it already was. Why Omlet do you not use the same size gaps for the roof as you do the sides????

Outdoor rabbit run review
Holly,
I’ve had my run several years now and there are good and bad points. Firstly the bad things, the plastic clips are a waste of time, they ping off and snap all the time leaving holes in the pen for rabbits to escape through. They are not weather proof and degrade in about 6 months. I’ve got fed up of replacing them all the time so I now use heavy duty cable ties that work much better. Because its so heavy and only held together by clips it is really difficult to move without breaking it. This means that once the grass has been eaten you can’t move your rabbits on to fresh grass. Additionally, the mesh floor is not really suitable for rabbits as they can’t run easily on it and they don’t lie flat on uneven grass creating a trip hazard. I removed them and use the predator skirting pegged down. On the good side the modular design is brilliant, being able to expand the run and link up tunnels and hutches makes it fantastic. Also the coated metal really is weather proof and is still in great condition after being outside permanently for 3 years. I haven’t found anything comparable on the market. Yes it is expensive but it is vastly superior to the cheap chicken wire and wood rubbish from standard pets at home type places, and we have not had any issues with foxes getting in. They have tried and failed to get inside the run. I’m about to extend mine and put in a semi-permanent base, but I’ll be using cable ties to put it together!

Just don't information...
Kerry-Jayne,
We bought the 15ft version of the rabbit pen and even though I'm not usually one to leave reviews I feel like I have to with this product so let's start from the beginning... You will need at least 2 people to put this run together and it took two of us just over a day to do it. The instructions are as clear as mud and the clips are fiddly and mischievous. You will need one person holding the each end to make them clip in which resorts in sore fingers! The product appears to be quite flimsy which I was surprised about, especially with the amount that it cost and I'm not totally convinced that the mesh is galvanised (we live in a coastal area so this is obviously very important to us and we double checked with customer service first who confirmed this). The poles could do with having spring clips on them to stop them constantly coming out. We had to tye baling twine around them just to keep them in place because as soon as we put them in, they popped back out again. Lastly... when you pay just under a grand for an item I would have thought that free delivery was a given but we still had another £35 on top of that in order to get it to us. The run is now up but our rabbits cannot go in it until the grass grows through the floor mesh as I'm pretty convinced that they will easily get something stuck and potentially brake something as the holes are quite big. I'm hopeful that this run will last more than a few years and I am excited to get my rabbits into it and to be able to run free as I would say that it is pretty predator proof.

Omlet Chicken Fencing Mk2 - 21 metres - inc. Gate, Poles and Guy Lines
Easy to set up but not a perfect solution
Tina,
This fence is easy to set up and install, the parts are well made. I found that my chickens can escape by going under or flying over the fence. The ground in my yard is not perfectly even so the fence has some spots that are not as tight as others, meaning they sometimes escape. But it works most of the time. It isn't really a tall enough fence to keep any hen from flying over, except maybe the heaviest breeds. I have Orpingtons and they can fly over but not easily.

Autodoor Attachment Kit for Traditional Chicken Mesh
OK but pilot holes drilled too large.
Darren,
As other reviewer stated, the pre-drilled pilot holes are too large for the provided screws. I had to toss the screws and go find some longer/bigger ones to make it work. Not a big deal, but it delayed my install and seems like a repeated problem that Omlet may want to address!
