Good for spare
Carole, Lancashire,
We bought this during the avian flu flockdown so that our silkie hens could have some fresh air. They have been living in our garage and although they like all the space that they have in the garage they really enjoyed being out in the omlet during the day. One critisism though,no way could we put it together in the time it said in the instructions!

Small but perfectly formed!
Ruth,
I’ve had two Eglu Cubes for many years and have found them to be hard wearing, good quality, well designed and perfect for my girls. Unfortunately, one of my chickens was being constantly picked on by the others, which considering they were all rescued seems very unfair. As they free range, it was proving difficult to protect her, so I decided to make her a large enclosure with her own little house, an Eglu Go! I bought a green one to match our Cubes and it arrived within a few days in a large box. With the aid of my trusty power tool, I assembled the house quickly and easily by myself following the instruction book together with the excellent videos available on the Omlet website. Olivia is now safe and happy and enjoying living in her little house. Like the Cube, the Go is well designed, good quality, easy to clean and maintain. Highly recommend.

Eglu Go + 1 m guinea pig run = excellent broody cage
Tammy, TAS,
I recently bought two Eglu Cube Ups and loved them so much that I've just bought an Eglu Go and paired it with a 1 m guinea pig run. This has made an excellent broody cage for my Belgian d'Uccle bantams. Violet and Betty have just hatched their first chick after sharing broody duties for the past 3 weeks.

Omlet chicken Run
Lisa,
I bought the Omlet chicken run to attach to my existing coop and couldn't imagine not having it now. My girls are able to come and go from their coop and are able to let themselves out in the morning on their own???????????? I have less worry about critters getting to them because of the ground protection that was included with the run, great peace of mind.

Terrier proof run! And versatile modular kit.
Isabel,
We kept free range chickens for many years and one day the dog caught one. Next day he killed all the rest. I didn’t want them penned in a traditional coop but the go-up coop inside a 2x2 full height pen with a double gate is a great solution. We can get inside, but the dogs can’t. The gates were easy to toddler proof with a single cable tie so that the upper latch holds both halfves. For now the ladder is on sideways which allows the coop to be cleaned without moving - hens seem fine with it! Will probably extend and buy more hens in spring.

Good coop, shame no auto door
Victoria,
I already have a Go Up and my ladies needed a little more space so I bought this little coop. I assumed it would have an automatic door available as I thought the one omlet make is universal. Sadly this is not the case and there is not one for this coop. This is why k have only given three stars. It’s quite a big deal regarding the safety of my chickens. I hope there is one made soon.

Needs space behind
Jenny,
I bought the Eglu because the wooden coop had become infested with red mite in crevices where the usual spray hadn't reached. The Eglu should minimise the risk of another infestation. It does have nooks & crannies but the outside is very smooth and I'll be spraying the outside. It appears possible to dismantle completely if necessary and the smooth surfaces can easily be cleaned and disinfected. The information does mention the need for an 80cm gap behind but there needs to be a bigger space than this behind the coop, for handling both the roosting tray and the droppings tray separately. The old wooden coop was never smelly because the droppings fell onto hay with sawdust underneath. The Eglu can be very smelly in the morning because the droppings can land on the plastic roosting bars. For daily cleaning I'm using sawdust and for the deeper routine cleaning I've used water and a soft scrubbing brush. The plastic doesn't dry quickly by itself but does dry easily with a towel. The insulation provided by the double walls was effective in the recent record heatwave, when the coop remained relatively cool. I'm confident that it will provide adequate protection in winter. However, for those rare hot summer nights, I couldn't see a designed way of increasing the ventilation, so I opened the doors slightly. The run is secure so this wasn't a problem. My six bantams used to take ages to settle at night because they wanted to snuggle up AND perch. The bedtime routine involved snuggling up until they pushed each other off the perch! The level roosting bars allow them to snuggle without faliing and bedtime is peaceful.

Beautiful coop, difficult to assemble
Jackie,
The coop itself is stunning and so is the run post assembly. However, the coop and the run were full of factory defects we had to fix ourselves. The bar in the center was so large, my husband had to bend it to make it work with the coop. Also, one of the first screws while assembling the coop had to be dremeled because it simply did not fit in the hole it was supposed to screw into. We chose to not send the coop back because it was time sensitive that we had the coop ready for our chickens. Regardless I would recommend it to my friends but I just feel disappointed and a little depressed about it.

Love it - BUT!
Yvonne,
I'm glad that I bought my Eglu Go, but stupidly hadn't realised that it's not quite as easy to clean out as shown! I have put hay on the white tray to make my girls comfortable, most of which falls through into the droppings tray below making it not as simple to clean as described. However, overall I'm pleased - easier to clean than my old wooden coop and more importantly my rescue hens seem to like it.
